Barb's Involvement in the Junior League of Reno

Hi my name is Barb Hawn and I am your Candidate for Assembly District 27 and I wanted to share with you some of the organizations that I have been privileged to be involved in.

I joined the Junior League of Reno in 1999, junior league is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.  I was proud to serve as President of JLR from 2005-2006 which provided Reno with community enrichment scholarships, legislative advocacy, Healthy Kids Fair and so much more.  In 2012, I also co-chaired the Annual Poinsettia Luncheon with over 900 women in attendance which benefited Inspiration Station which was the Truckee Meadows’s first Universally Accessible Playground.

As your Assemblywomen in district 27, I will continue to support, serve, and volunteer in the community.
